F.A.Q.
By asking the right questions, you can better determine if an Ottawa real estate agent has experience selling in today’s market.
Q - Do you have experience selling Ottawa real estate?
Matt Richling and RE/MAX Affiliates Realty have successfully assisted their clients with dozens of residential real estate transactions. Matt helps buyers better understand: current land trends, views, floor plans, parking space issues, building inspections, and the entire real estate purchasing transaction.
Q - As an Ottawa real estate agent, how do you value my privacy?
The term “fiduciary duty” is taken very serious by Matt Richling. From the first confidential consultation, through the exchange of privileged market information and private-inventory offerings, he bodyguards your best interests throughout the sales and escrow process. Raised in Ottawa, with a background in the entertainment business, specializes in providing personal, discrete service to an exclusive clientele. See Matt Richling’s Words of Thanks to read what people in the entertainment and real estate industries have to say about Matt’s service and integrity.
Q - What might I lose by purchasing real estate direct from a sales center?
On-site agents typically work directly for the developer. Using your own buyer’s agent can help you get an overall feel for the real estate market, rather than collecting opinions from individual developments about their own projects. Your buyer’s agent can attend your closing and walk through with you (representing your best interests) as well as advise you on numerous issues (throughout the escrow process) which do not always fall into the job description or legal parameters of what an in-house representative is allowed to discuss.
Q - Will you be with me at closing?
Matt wouldn’t want to miss it for anything! As one of Ottawa’s premiere real estate brokerages, clients receive exclusive information designed to guide their investment and streamline the closing process.
Q - How do you work with me?
By helping guide you through the entire process, Matt will be there every step of the way. From helping you choose a Mortgage Broker, being there during the home inspection, to being there on closing day, Matt will never allow you to make a uniformed decision.
Q - Should I talk with you even if I am not sure that I am ready?
YES! Many times the whole process takes a little longer than expected and it pays to be prepared. Great homes sell fast, meaning that having everything ready will save time when that perfect home comes on the market. You do not want to rush any portion of the transaction. Plus if you are not even sure if buying is right for you, Matt Richling can help you talk everything out.
Q - How long does the process take?
It takes as long as you need it too. If you find the perfect home right away it can be a short time line, but it can also take a bit longer if we do not find exactly what you are looking for. Keep in mind there is usually a 60-90 day closing period from when you write the offer to when you move-in, but even that can be much longer.
